10 Side Hustles To Pay Off Debt Fast

Hello everyone, welcome back! Today I’m going to be sharing with you 10 side hustles. All of these side hustles are ones that I have actually explored, signed up for and worked but once we talk about that, you’ll see that basically I’ve done that job as well.

So, if you’re interested in learning about different side hustles that I have explored, then keep reading.

My Side Hustle Journey

I have always had a side hustle. For the majority of my life, I’ve had either some type of little side hustle or I’ve had a full-time job plus a side hustle.

Currently, I have a full-time job

1. Picking Up a Second Job

The first side hustle is a no brainer: picking up a second job in your field of work.

  • You can always try to work overtime if that’s allowed.
  • Since I am salaried, overtime was not an option for me.
  • I researched and even applied for some jobs in my same career field.

It makes sense to apply for jobs in your career field because nine times out of ten, you’ll be qualified. But don’t sleep on the idea of getting a job outside your field either, sometimes that can help you avoid burnout.

2. Driving for Uber

I did sign up for Uber and did a few rides. At the time, Uber was new in my city, so there wasn’t much traffic or demand. Most of my time was spent parked, waiting for rides.

  • The process of starting Uber was smooth, and I didn’t have issues.
  • Uber puts a cap on consecutive hours you can drive.
  • But you can set your own income goals.

For example, my cousin drives Uber and Lyft, and on his off days, he’ll aim to make $100–$150 before stopping.

3. VIPKid

I learned about VIPKid through a friend. With VIPKid, you teach children in China how to speak English.

  • It offers flexibility in time and location.
  • Pay is $15–$22 an hour.
  • Requirements: a bachelor’s degree + 2 years of teaching experience (can be tutoring or other forms, not necessarily a teaching degree).

However, because of the time zone differences, I would’ve had to be up at 5:00 AM to teach, which didn’t fit with my full time job schedule.

4. Uber Eats (and Similar Delivery Services)

Uber Eats is similar to DoorDash and other delivery services.

  • Unlike driving passengers, you need to pick up food and deliver it to doors.
  • If you have issues with walking or standing, this might not be the best choice.
  • My husband does Uber Eats but prefers Uber driving.

Signing up is easy as long as you pass the background check and have car insurance.

5. Care Services

I’ll group these together as care type side hustles:

  • Babysitting
  • Housekeeping

I’ve done babysitting, and I pay housekeepers to clean when we move out of places. Housekeepers where I live charge $10–$15/hour, and babysitting is about the same rate.

You can market yourself on:

  • Facebook Marketplace
  • Care.com
  • SitterCity

6. Tutoring

I tutored young adults studying for the GED test.

  • I covered English and Social Studies.
  • My partner covered Math and Science.

I was handed this job, but you can find similar gigs on Indeed and other job search sites.

7. Selling

This one is about purging and selling things, not necessarily creative products.

  • Garage sales
  • Facebook Marketplace
  • eBay
  • Craigslist

I personally love Facebook Marketplace, I buy and sell on there often. I’ve gotten bundles from couponers, furniture, a Keurig, and more, usually at discounted rates.

8. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing can be done with or without a platform.

  • Some programs have requirements; some don’t.
  • You just need a place to share your links and people willing to click them.

I currently bring in hundreds of dollars each month through affiliate marketing with:

  • Magic Links
  • ShareASale
  • Smaller companies as well

9. Etsy

Etsy is a marketplace for creators.

  • I sell stationery products such as stickers.
  • I make anywhere from $1,000–$3,000 a month

You can sell:

  • Physical products
  • Digital products
  • Stickers, jewelry, home décor, and more

I personally prefer Etsy because I enjoy supporting small businesses myself.

10. Blogging

Finally, the thing i am doing now

  • I currently am going to monetize my blog
  • I will began earning money after i gain some momentum.
  • you can make money in several ways (affiliate marketing, sponsorships, ad revenue).

My blog itself isn’t monetized, but will be a strong income stream soon .
